"I am a 67 year old highly active woman who had a sling procedure years ago by a urologist. I had endured a leakage that was of sufficient strength to warrant my wearing a pad every day, often changing it once or twice during the day. The procedure worked for about 6 months and then my body reverted to the old pattern. On came the pad.
At the insistence of a new gynecologist, I made an appt. with Dr. Marc Toglia, Lankenau Hospital, a urogynecologist. The material he used for the sling was completely different, and rather than spending 3 days in the hospital, I was an out patient. I had no discomfort whatsoever, but did follow instructions and stayed close to the house for 4-5 days. There was no pain associated with the procedure, and I was back to work the following week, driving and leading a normal life, without a pad.
It is now 10 weeks post surgery and I am working out in the gym, not wearing
a pad and feeling really great about this procedure. There is no need
to endure a drip with this new technique, I would encourage you to have
a consultation and schedule this as soon as possible."
"At 37 years old, I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with a vaginal prolapse.
I had had three vaginal births resulting in damage to my pelvic floor.
A couple of years prior, Dr. Toglia inserted a TVT sling which successfully fixed my urinary incontinence problem.
Now I was ready to address the anterior wall prolapse.
Dr. Toglia performed the ProLift procedure and I still can't believe how successful it has been.
Having three children under 10, the recovery couldn't have been any better and the results have been fantastic.
It's so terrific to feel normal again!"
"At age 82, I had been told by my doctors that I couldn't have surgery to
treat my urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. I saw Dr. Toglia
and underwent an Anterior Prolift procedure with a pubovaginal sling. I was
out of the hospital in a day, and came home perfect. Now, my days and
nights are perfect, and I feel fabulous. Ladies, my advice is - run to the
phone and get help - I am 83 years old now and loving it!"
